Ex-Contro Member? Here’s How to Reactivate on Zapmed

If you previously relied on the medical expertise at Contro, we want to start by reassuring you that the high standard of clinical care you value remains our top priority.

While our name has evolved, our core mission to provide accessible, discreet, and professional medical support continues. You will still interact with fully licensed practitioners who prioritise your well-being, now under the banner of Zapmed.

We know that change often brings questions, and one of the recent enquiries we’ve received from a Contro member is this:

“I previously held an account with Contro. Am I able to simply resume my previous treatment plan, or do I need to begin the entire journey from the beginning?”

We hear you, and we want to be upfront about this: we understand how much of an inconvenience this may feel, particularly when the whole point of our service is to make healthcare as effortless as possible.

Unfortunately, as part of the transition to Zapmed, we were not able to carry over accounts from Contro. This means that former Contro members will need to register a new account with us.

Can Former Contro Patients Pick Up Where They Left Off, or Does the Process Have to Be Restarted from Scratch?

The short answer is that you will need to create a new account with Zapmed. We know that’s not the answer everyone was hoping for, but we want to be transparent about why.

Zapmed operates with a team of doctors who are new to your medical history. For them to provide you with safe, appropriate and personalised care, they need to properly assess your health from the ground up.

Your well-being depends on your treating doctor having a complete and accurate picture of where you are health-wise, and that picture can only be built through a proper consultation. Skipping that step, even for a returning patient, would not be in your best interest.

The reassuring part is that the registration process is very familiar. If you’ve signed up for Contro before, you’ll find that the steps are largely the same. It won’t feel like starting over so much as stepping through a door you’ve walked through before.

Why We Require You to Register Again

Zapmed is a new beginning, and with that comes a new care relationship. Our team of doctors is different from those you may have consulted with previously, and any meaningful medical relationship has to start on solid ground. Your new doctor needs to understand who you are, what your health looks like today, and what you’re hoping to achieve through your care with us. That’s not something we’re able to assume or carry over from a previous provider.

There’s also a medical reason that matters just as much. Your health doesn’t stay static. Even if it’s only been a few months since your last Contro consultation, things may have shifted. Your circumstances, your symptoms, your lifestyle, or even the medication that was previously suitable for you could all look different now. Prescribing any treatment without a current, thorough understanding of your health would not meet the standard of care we hold ourselves to.

A new consultation isn’t a formality. It’s how we make sure that whatever we recommend is right for you at this point in time, not based on a snapshot from months ago. We take that responsibility seriously.

How to Access Zapmed’s Services

Getting started with Zapmed is a simple three-step process.

Step 1: Register a new account

Head to the Zapmed platform and create your account. You’ll provide some basic personal and medical information to help our team understand your background before your consultation.

Step 2: Complete a health questionnaire

You’ll be asked to fill out a health questionnaire covering your current symptoms, medical history, and any treatments you’ve tried before. This helps your doctor prepare for your consultation and ensures your appointment time is spent productively.

Step 3: Select your service and book your first consultation

Choose the service that applies to your health needs and schedule your first appointment with one of our licensed doctors.

From there, the experience mirrors what you may already know. Consultations take place via telehealth, so there’s no need to travel or sit in a waiting room. If treatment is appropriate following your consultation, our doctor will issue a prescription, which is sent directly to our partner pharmacy. They will prepare your medication and arrange delivery to your door.

The model is the same. The convenience is the same. The care is the same.

What Staying with Zapmed Means for Your Care Going Forward

Change can be disorienting, especially when it involves something as personal as your healthcare.

One thing worth knowing is that once you are registered and have had your first consultation, you are fully set up within the Zapmed system. Your doctor will have your current health information on file, your consultations will be logged, and your ongoing care will be managed in one place.

We also remain committed to removing the barriers that so often make healthcare feel inaccessible, from long waiting times to the inconvenience of in-person visits for matters that can be handled remotely. That commitment shapes every part of how Zapmed is built and how it continues to grow.

We’re glad you’re here, and we look forward to being a consistent, trusted presence in your health for the years ahead.
