Payment Troubleshooting, Failed Cards, Debit Orders and Refunds

There are few things more frustrating than a payment notification that catches you by surprise. It is your money, you have planned for where it needs to go, and the last thing you want is confusion around a scheduled payment.

Recently, one member sent us this message:

โ€œI got an email saying my account will be debited in 48 hours. that should not happen. Debit my account on the 26th of each month.โ€

First, thank you for writing in. We welcome every query, and we mean it. Keep sending them because your questions help us understand what matters most to you. Now, let us get into it.

I Got an Email Saying My Account Will Be Debited in 48 Hours. My Account Is Debited on the 26th of Each Month.

The email is simply an advance notification that a debit instruction is scheduled to be processed. It does not necessarily mean that your debit date has changed.

If your subscription is set to be collected on the 26th of each month, that date remains your agreed payment date. The notification is sent ahead of time to let you know that the payment process is approaching and to give you an opportunity to ensure there are sufficient funds available or that your payment details are still correct.

Receiving this email does not mean your account will suddenly be debited two days earlier than normal. It is a reminder generated before the scheduled collection takes place.

If you believe your debit date has been changed incorrectly or you notice that your payment was processed on an unexpected date, please contact the Zapmed support team so we can investigate your account and provide an explanation.

What Happens If My Card Payment Fails?

Card payments can fail for several reasons, many of which are temporary and easy to resolve.

The most common reasons include insufficient funds, expired cards, replacement cards issued by your bank, banking security checks or incorrect card information.

If your payment fails, the first step is to check that your card details are still current and that there are enough funds available in your account.

If the issue was temporary, such as a short term banking interruption or a balance that was not yet available, you may be able to retry the payment successfully once the issue has been resolved.

If your card has expired or been replaced by your bank, you will need to update your payment details before another payment attempt can succeed.

Keeping your payment information up to date helps avoid interruptions to your Zapmed subscription.

How Do I Update My Card Details?

Banks regularly replace cards because of expiry dates, security upgrades or fraud prevention measures. When this happens, your subscription payment information also needs to be updated.

If your card details have changed, update them as soon as possible to avoid failed payment attempts.

Make sure that the card number, expiry date and security code are entered correctly before saving the new information.

It is also worth checking that the billing details linked to the card match the information held by your bank.

Updating your payment details promptly helps keep your subscription active and reduces the chance of missed payments.

If you experience any difficulty updating your card information, our support team is available to assist.

What Happens If My Debit Order Fails?

Your debit order is designed to collect your monthly subscription payment automatically on your agreed payment date.

If the collection cannot be completed because of insufficient funds or a banking decline, you may receive a notification explaining that the payment was unsuccessful.

This gives you an opportunity to correct the issue before it affects your subscription.

Keeping your banking details current and ensuring funds are available on your scheduled debit date remains the simplest way to avoid payment interruptions.

When to Retry Your Payment

If you know that the reason for the failed payment has been fixed, such as funds becoming available or your bank removing a temporary restriction, you can retry your payment.

There is no benefit in repeatedly attempting payment if the underlying issue has not been resolved, as the transaction is likely to fail again.

Take a moment to confirm that your account has sufficient funds and that your card details are correct before trying again.

If you continue to experience problems after correcting the issue, our support team can help determine whether there is another reason preventing the payment from being processed.

What If I Need a refund?

If you believe a payment was collected incorrectly or you think an error has occurred, contact the Zapmed support team as soon as possible.

Every refund request is reviewed based on the payment history and the terms of your subscription.

Providing your payment date, amount and any supporting information helps us investigate your query more quickly.

Where a refund is approved, processing time will depend on the banking system and payment method involved.

If you are ever unsure about a payment, an email you received, or anything related to your Zapmed subscription, our support team is the right first stop. You can reach us through the platform or via email. We are here to help you understand exactly what is happening with your account so that the payment side of things stays as straightforward as possible.
